If Christians who do accept Jesus are people who have not made a radical break with the attitudes and values of their society, it is not to be assumed that they are in fact accepting Jesus as the Messiah he really is. They may be accepting Jesus under some false assumptions. If their perceptions, their judgments, and above all their lifestyles, which are the lens that focus or distort everything human beings see, are in basic conformity with the lights and loves of this world, it is very unlikely that they are seeing Jesus as he really is or recognizing him as the Messiah he came to be.
