FORTY-FIRST FORTY DAY FAST
FOR THE TRUTH OF GOSPEL NONVIOLENCE
JULY 1-AUGUST 9
FAST FOOD:Thirty-Second Helping
To “take up the cross” means to endure the injustice inflicted on us. To “take up the cross and follow me” means to endure injustice as Jesus did: loving those who are violating our rights and the rights of others and offering our lives for them. This is the Way Jesus chose to save the world. It is the only Way we can save it with him.

“Nothing is better or more necessary than love.
God is pleased with nothing but love.
One act of pure love is more precious in the eyes of God
and of the soul, and more profitable to the Church,
than all the good works together,
though it may seem as nothing.”
– St. John of the Cross
