FORTY THIRD ANNUAL
FAST FOR THE TRUTH OF
GOSPEL NONVIOLENCE
(July 1–August 9)

Christianity stands or falls with the reality of Jesus being raised from the dead by God, the Father of all, who is love. In the New Testament there is no presentation of the Christian faith that does not start with belief in the Resurrection of Jesus. The Resurrection of Jesus at one level is about God validating that what Jesus reveals in the Gospels about God and God’s Way to Eternal Life is true, e.g. the Nonviolent Love of all under all circumstances in the model of Jesus. The Resurrection here validates that Jesus does in fact “have the words of eternal life,” as Peter confesses in the Gospel. It thereby places the universal ethical question, “What am I to do now,” which each person must confront and answer many times over, in a new context from what it would have been when asked before the Resurrection of Jesus. Unless, of course, a person thinks that having someone raised from the dead by God, who while living on earth taught a Way to enter into eternal life with God, IAM, who is Eternal Life, is of no significance.
