FORTY THIRD ANNUAL
FAST FOR THE TRUTH OF
GOSPEL NONVIOLENCE
(July1–August 9)

FAST FOOD AD 2025: Seventeenth Helping
Whoever thought at the time when Jesus was going through His crucifixion, trying to love His enemies because that was what the will of the Father asked, that He was making visible to all humanity the power to completely conquer evil and death. Whoever thought at that time that evil and death could be totally overcome like this? Whoever thought back then that such a power even existed, let alone that it was within the reach of every human being? Whoever thought standing on Golgotha two thousand years ago that the final act of Jesus’ Passion and Crucifixion lived through by loving His enemies, forgiving them, praying for them, would be His Resurrection? Who thinks so now?
But, if Christ is risen, there is unimaginable and extraordinary power in the universe and beyond the universe for annihilating all the manifestations of evil and death that have haunted humanity and every human being relentlessly for as far back in history as humanity can access. And that power, the power of Christlike Nonviolent Love towards all always, has now been made visible and offered at every moment of life to Christians and to anyone who believes Jesus and who believes in Jesus. There are, of course, an indefinite number of options available by which a person can conduct his or her life. Christlike Nonviolent Love of all at all times is also now there to choose as the guiding principle of one’s daily life and source of ultimate meaning—or not. This choice of Nonviolent Christlike love of all always, however, is rational and sane only if Christ is risen; otherwise forget it as an option. But, if Christ is risen, then this choice would be an imperative of rationality and of sanity.
