Does Jesus ever command what He does not want His disciples to live or to live the opposite of what He commands? Does He ever deny them the grace to live what He commands them to live? Of course not. Jesus is not mentally ill or a sadist. On the contrary, the Christian life begins when he or she dares to do what they would never do without the Nonviolent Jesus risen from the dead.
