Our Lamb has conquered. Him let us follow.

“When the world becomes nonviolent I will be nonviolent,” is a common response by people, including Christians, as to why they will not put up their swords and be pacifists and absolutely reject war, or why they will not follow the way of nonviolence as their way of bring in daily life. It is a very reasonable answer for anyone and everyone to give—except a Christian.
Jesus comes into the world where no one believes in the truth He comes to reveal. He lives and acts and teaches and chooses and dies and rises from the dead in a world where few ever believed what He said and, many, if not most, were hostile to His teaching. But, He did not wait to come into the world or to live and teach what He knew was the truth of God, until everyone else was living it and proclaiming it. Nor did His Apostles and disciples, once they became firmly convinced after the Resurrection and Pentecost that He was communicating the ultimate and definitive truth about God, His Will and His Way.
If you believe Jesus is your Lord, God and Savior of the world and is the Messiah, the Christ, the Word of God “made flesh,” and the Creator of “all things,” then it would be personally experienced, by anyone who so believed, as wildly irrational to replace Jesus’ teaching with someone else’s view of God, His Will and His Way.
Those in power in every age see, and correctly see, Jesus and His teaching as a deadly threat to their power and the benefits it afforded them in the big or small kingdom they rule. They therefore have to manufacture, propagate and societally put into place means and methods of undermining Christians’ firm conviction in Jesus and His teaching in the Gospels.
“The dissemination of the truth of Christ in a society based on coercion was always hindered in one and the same manner, namely, those in power, in the state, in the Church and in the usurious institutions of mammon, feeling that the recognition of Christ’s truth would undermine their position, consciously or sometimes unconsciously, perverted it by explanations, interpretations and additions quite foreign to it, and also opposed it by open violence.”
Leo Tolstoy, 1908
What device for perverting your conscience and conviction regarding Jesus’ teaching in the Gospels of the Nonviolent Love of friends and enemies have you or others fallen for in the past, are you or others falling for in the present? Is any method conjured up, to undermine belief, conviction and commitment to the truth of Jesus and His Way revealed in the Gospels, ever the work of our Father in heaven whose will Jesus only came to do and to reveal on earth as it is done in heaven?
Such clever means and methods, with their explanations, interpretations and additions turned on their heads Jesus’ explicit teachings rejecting violence and loving the enemy. But again, this is not the work of Jesus, His Father in heaven or His Holy Spirit. It is the cunning, crafty and duplicitous work of “the Father of lies who was a murderer from the beginning.”
This is why these explanations, interpretations and additions that turned on their heads Jesus’ explicit teachings rejecting violence and loving the enemy had the consequences of Christians murdering tens of millions of human beings, including uncountable numbers of Baptized members of the Body of Christ, after Christianity’s first three hundred years of existence.
