FORTY THIRD ANNUAL
FAST FOR THE TRUTH OF
GOSPEL NONVIOLENCE
(July 1–August 9)

The Gospel proclaims that Jesus is not only a great teacher, the Prophet, the Messiah and the Suffering Servant, but is also the Lord, the Alpha and the Omega, the pre-existent Word through whom all things were made and without whom nothing would have been made, the definitive revelation of God, the self-revelation of God, the incarnation of God, God!
Most Christians who wish violence, indeed homicidal violence, to be morally acceptable to God and to Jesus, want the Gospels interpreted in light of the rest of the Bible, specifically the Old Testament. I believe in light of what the Gospels communicate above about who Jesus is, the rest of the Bible, specifically the Old Testament, should be interpreted in light of the Gospels.

“Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Love.
Heaven and earth are full of Your glory!
Hosanna in the highest!
Blessed is He, Who comes in the Name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest!”
