A practical Question: Are we ready to commit ourselves to enduring evil with love? Do we choose to love back, no matter what happens to us?
Jesus’ mission is to save the world by enduring evil with love. To “endure evil with love” does not mean to endure evil passively. Christians don’t endure evil because it is easier to put up with it than to resist it. They resist evil passionately, but the way Jesus did: with passion but not with violence.; with love instead of with hate; by bearing witness instead of by bearing arms. Jesus’ way is the way of the cross.

God is pleased with nothing but love.
One act of pure love is more precious in the eyes of God
and of the soul, and more profitable to the Church,
than all the good works together,
though it may seem as nothing.”
– St. John of the Cross
