“We must remember that atrocities are not committed by monsters but by ordinary men. Monsters exist, but they are too few in number to be truly dangerous; more dangerous are the common men, the functionaries ready to believe and to act on the words of the monsters.”
-Primo Levi, Survivor of Auschwitz, whose operating personnel were 98% Baptized Christians, Catholic and Lutheran
Secular wisdom says, beware of the crisis mongering monsters and their functionaries yelling, “We must get rid of these people, these vermin, by whatever means necessary by 5 o’clock or else all is lost.”
Christian wisdom says, beware of the crisis mongering monsters and their functionaries who insist the situation is so dire, or about to become so dire, that you must abandon the Nonviolent Way and teaching of Jesus in the Gospels and follow the way and teaching of the monsters. But in truth, no situation could be that dire for a Christian, if Jesus is who the Gospels say He is. If you know of one, I would like to hear about it.
What the monsters and their functionaries are really about in societies that have Christians as a portion of their population is enticing faithful Christians to abandon their faith in the Nonviolent Jesus of the Gospels—the only real Jesus there is, the only historical Jesus there is, was or ever will be, and therefore the only possible spiritual or moral Jesus there is, was or ever will be. Why do the monsters work ceaselessly to this day to get Christians to renounce their faith in the Jesus of the Gospels and replace Him with some Jesus who is not, never was and never will be? Because the Gospels and the Catholic faith teach that “the Jesus of history, is the Christ of faith.” The Gospels, the oral Tradition that preceded them and the three hundred years that followed Jesus’ Resurrection unwaveringly teach that the Christ of faith who is the Jesus of history taught and lived in history a Way of Nonviolent Love for all in all situations, unto His murder. Such a teaching by the words and deeds of Jesus is kryptonite to the self-deceived “supermen,” the monsters, who desire to have thousands or millions of men and women constantly ready and willing to kill whomever they say to kill when they say it.
A Christian college graduate in the U.S. who went through an Air Force or a Navy ROTC program at college and who has been nurtured by their Church to believe in a fictional, non-historical, violence and enmity endorsing Jesus and Christ, who when told, “Napalm those people over there,” by a monster or one of his functionaries, obediently, and believing they are doing their Christian duty, goes and “napalms those people over there,” is the ideal Christian for a state. Indeed, 71% of the U.S. military is composed of such Christians with their Christian chaplain support system.
The monster and his functionaries always need other human beings to do their dirty, violent work. They therefore are always fostering a faith crisis for Christians: either Jesus and His Way, or the monster and his way. To choose one is necessarily to abandon the other. Both cannot be lived simultaneously in the same moment. Most non-Christian people in the world understand Jesus in the Gospels as rejecting violence and enmity, but most Christians in the world—about 98%—understand, via various methods of interpretation, Jesus to endorse and support violence and enmity.
So, it must be seriously noted that the monster and his functionaries recruit professional Christian religious, who have lost their faith in the Jesus of the Gospels and the Jesus of history, to compose deceitful propaganda to cunningly delude people into believing the absurdity that the way of the violent monster is compatible with the nonviolent, enemy loving Way of Jesus in the Gospels, so that in following the monster, a Christian is in fact following Jesus and doing what Jesus taught His followers to do.
An incontrovertible absurdity in the extreme? Yes, and everyone knows it is. But, if monsters and their functionaries can bring people to believe that “War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength,” then deceiving Christians into believing that the hate filled killing of your enemies is the same as loving your enemies as Christ loved His enemies is not an exceptionally difficult task, especially when every major institution in Christianity—Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and Evangelical, conservative and liberal— is assisting in the monster’s propaganda campaign.
