“Most people cannot accept even the simplest and most obvious truth if it be such as would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions which they have delighted in explaining to colleagues, which they have proudly taught to others, and which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabric of their lives.”
— Leo Tolstoy
Such is the case with just about all popes, bishops, priests, ministers and pastors in regard to the Nonviolent Jesus of the Gospels and His Way of Nonviolent Love of friends and enemies. For them Justified Christian Violence and Enmity Theories and “If You Want Peace, Prepare for War” Christian Moral Theories—which they have proudly taught to others and which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabric of their lives—are a way to follow Jesus and a way to eternal life and communion with God who is love. The intrinsic logical absurdity of such theories being touted as way of obediently and truthfully following Jesus is a moral irrelevancy to such prelates—and to those whom they have made as blind as themselves.
